Gaudi

While at home I researched the architect, Gaudi, I found his work to be weird.. However as I experienced his work in person, I found the buildings to be quite beautiful!! The insides are just as amazing as the outsides. The very wealthy families of the 1900's were very interested in modernism. They would hire Gaudi to design something spectacular to show off their wealth. The very bottom floor was made for the carriages to enter. The next floor up is very grand and was the head of the family's floor. The next floor was made for the children when they grew older and married- too keep all the family together. The third floor was for the servants.

I have arrived!

I have to admit, the flight terrified me, though I made it safe and sound! I walked around Barcelona today, it is very beautiful! Lovely stores and markets, as well as coffee bars! Yum! I start teaching 5th grade science and English tomorrow! I can't wait to tell the students about the wonderful kiddos from Southern Oaks! A new journey begins tomorrow!
